OUR HISTORY

2015: Samadhan Abhiyan founded
Samadhan Abhiyan, founded by Archanaa Agnihotri and Dr. S. C. Pandey in 2015, was inspired by Archanaa’s husband Mr. Uday Agnihotri. Uday studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh, USA). Later, he resigned his job at the California Department of Real Estate to return to India and, together with the people in his homeland, make our country a better place to live.
2016: Expanded workshops
We began conducting more workshops and training sessions to enhance participants’ awareness and their knowledge about the issues related to women and children and relevant laws.


2017: Launched "Sashakt Bachpan – Sashakt Desh"
Apart from launching our nationwide campaign Sashakt Bachpan Sashakt Desh, we periodically organise silent marches with students from IIT Delhi to widen people’s awareness about the POCSO Act.
2018: Collective oath-taking
In 2018, we set a national record when 1,015 people gathered at Central Park in New Delhi and took a collective oath to fight child sexual abuse.


2019: Launched "Meri Awaaz" app for protecting child rights
We launched the Meri Awaaz app to facilitate anonymous reporting of child sexual abuse which can help law enforcers act on crimes against women and children more effectively.
2020: Pandemic activities
During the COVID pandemic, we conducting conducting our awareness sessions virtually. We also set up community kitchens and distributed food rations.


2021-2022: Cycle distribution
We collaborated in distributing cycles to empower women from socioeconomically challenged backgrounds and also conducted cycle training sessions.
2022: Initiated "Chuppi Tod; Halla Bol"
“Chuppi Tod; Hall Bol”, a CSR initiative of India Pesticides Limited (IPL) in partnership with Samadhan Abhiyan, aims to empower children and their communities by conducting workshops to raise awareness about preventing child sexual abuse and the POCSO Act.
